5.3 Containment Decontamination Hatch

PBSC's Decontamination Hatch uses either formalin/formaldehyde or hydrogen peroxide to permit small items such as equipment, electronic items to have a controlled high level disinfection across a containment barrier in BSL 3 –Ag, BSL 4 – Ag facilities where leakage resistance across the hatch is critical.

Hydrogen Peroxide Vapor is generated by a BioQuell Clarus HPV generator, trusted and tested in thousands of applications around the world.

Providing typical cycle times from 45 minutes (subject to load). Equipment in the Hatch is subject to a 6 log 10 reduction in viable spores.

Gas cycle development – Formalin/Formaldehyde - testing using relevant Biological Indicator challenges responsibility of owner. PBSC will provide full training on the operation of the hatch.

Gas cycle development – Hydrogen Peroxide - testing using relevant Biological Indicator challenges is carried out on the chamber before being handed over.
